PCWorld supports the basic vibe-coding concept. In fact, one of our writers says he “utterly loves it.”
Well, here’s a surprise. It turns out there’s a AI development platform called Lovable—think vibe-coding with serious enterprise scaffolding behind it—and now the same investor that owns PCWorld is also an investor in Lovable.
On Wednesday, the Sweden-based Lovable announced that it raised $400 million in series C funding, and one of the new backers includes Regent, the same private equity firm that owns Foundry, whose portfolio includes PCWorld, Macworld, TechCrunch and other tech publications. You can find Regent’s press release here.
If anything, the Lovable announcements underscores that vibe-coding far exceeds the consumer hobbyist space. Lovable, whose team is pictured above, says more than 60M projects have been created with the platform, and Lovable-built websites receive more than 900M monthly visits. In essence, it can help build the software on which AI-fueled businesses run.
But here’s the stat that really resonates: They say 4 out of 5 Lovable users are in non-technical roles. As someone who’s struggled to create even basic web pages with token-starved LLMs, I’m intrigued by what a robust, enterprise-grade vibe-coding package may provide.
