Oukitel’s new rugged laptop charges via sunlight and survives water jets | usagoldmines.com

Oukitel, a Chinese consumer electronics company with a 10-year pedigree, just unveiled its new RG14-P laptop at IFA 2026 in Berlin. What makes this laptop unique is that it’s not only exceptionally durable but can also charge its own battery using solar power, reports Notebookcheck.

According to Oukitel, the laptop’s solar panels can generate up to 15 watts. That should be enough to charge the 95 watt-hour battery from 0 to 50 percent in around six hours. The laptop’s battery also consists of a built-in 3,000mAh section and a removable 5,200mAh section, making it possible to carry and swap in spare batteries.

The laptop has a 14.1-inch touchscreen with 1,000 nits of brightness, a 14th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, a webcam that can be directed both forwards and backwards, NFC, a fingerprint reader, and several ports including HDMI and Ethernet. The downside is that it weighs 3.7 kilograms (8.16 pounds), which is seriously fat and far from everyday portable.

The Oukitel RG14-P also has an IP69K rating, which is the highest level of ingress protection, meaning it’s completely sealed and protected against water and dust infiltration. It can even survive against water jet cleaning.

Oukitel has not yet announced pricing or availability.
