In news that shouldn’t be shocking to anyone who watched the series, Mike Flanagan’s Carrie got a season two renewal from Prime Video. The show took the classic story of Carrie and Margaret White and expanded and changed their characters and final fates in many ways. Everything about the finale hinted that there was more story to come, especially what we see in its closing moments. And we are very ready to see this world grow in its next season.
“I can’t wait for audiences to get to see what’s down the road for Carrie White. Mike Flanagan and I are excited about what comes next. It’s bound to be thrilling,” said executive producer Stephen King.Â
Check out the Carrie season two announcement trailer below. We love when a streaming service actually gives fans what they want!
There are a few things that we hope next season will address. Of course, we will find out more about Emaline and who she is associated with and where she’s taking Carrie. And we should learn more about the woman who interviewed (and subsequently killed) Margaret White and what she wants with Carrie. We may even get to catch up with Sue Snell, who hopefully still found her way to Duke but is haunted by everything that happened. She did lose the guy she loved and her (horrible) friend Chris, after all.Â
Nerdist’s Take: We Trust Mike Flanagan’s Vision and Are Curious About How Covens Will Factor into Carrie Season 2
There are covens of women with powers to explore in Carrie season two. And we will have to see if Carrie is ready to align with someone or perhaps finds a reason to push back against them. One thing is for sure: We trust in Mike Flanagan’s vision and we need more covens in season two.
