Quake, released in 1996 and still one of the most iconic FPS games ever made, celebrates its 30th anniversary this summer. In commemoration, id Software and MachineGames have put out a free expansion for the 2021 re-release of Quake. The expansion is called Quake: Dawn of the Machine and is already available as of August 6th, 2026.

Quake: Dawn of the Machine offers 19 new missions and is available for Windows 11, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can grab it for download via each platform’s respective hubs and stores.
Note, however, that Quake: Dawn of the Machine is not yet available on the Epic Games Store or GOG at the time of this article. Hopefully it will become available soon.
