If you’re getting excited for Universal Epic Universe’s grand opening but aren’t quite sure when you’ll be able to get to Florida, never fear! Universal is taking its Epic Universe Chronos portal on a national tour so that everyone can experience the beauty and the magic of the beautiful structure, even if they can’t yet make it to the theme park.
At Nerdist, we had the pleasure of visiting Universal Epic Universe’s portal when it visited New York City. It was a truly glorious activation, full of light, color, and beautiful architecture. It was also magnificent to see the portal set against the backdrop of New York City. And we can imagine it will be equally fun to see it pop up in the other tour stops it as on its agenda.
An official release shares, “Ahead of the highly anticipated opening of its fourth theme park – Universal Epic Universe – Universal Orlando Resort will launch the National Epic Universe Portal Tour across select cities this spring to give fans an exciting glimpse of the adventures that await in the immersive new theme park. The tour will include stops in Atlanta, New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago and will bring a one-of-a-kind “epic” experience directly to fans.”
But, what can one see on this epic Portal Tour, well, “The centerpiece of the tour will be a gigantic, 30-foot-tall Chronos – a replica of the icon of Universal Epic Universe and the gateway that guests will enter to experience the theme park’s five incredibly immersive worlds: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Dark Universe. As the tour makes its way through iconic locations in each city, guests will be invited to approach the mesmerizing portal structure to witness action-packed sequences that celebrate the incredible adventures of the new theme park.”
Those who visit the mobile Chronos will also have the chance to win a trip to Universal Orlando Resort and experience Universal Epic Universe for themselves. And what could be more magical than that. Although some of the tour dates have past now, there are still a few more on the agenda. Don’t miss out!

- April 11-13: Atlanta, Georgia (Pemberton Place, adjacent to World of Coca-Cola)
- April 23-26: New York, New York (Rockefeller Center)
- May 16-18: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (The Rocky Steps)
- June 13-18: Chicago, Illinois (Pioneer Court)
And, of course, get ready for Universal Epic Universe‘s grand opening on May 22.
