Once Verizon introduced their new Simplicity plan earlier this year, we weren’t sure if the old tricks to get a loyalty discount applied to accounts would continue to work. Verizon’s shift to a world with fewer discounts made it seem like loyalty was out.
As it turns out, some customers have been able to still run back our favorite loyalty discount trick and get up to 25% off. If you have an expiring loyalty discount with Verizon, feel free to give it a try once again.
How to get Verizon’s loyalty discount
For those new to these loyalty offers, Verizon has had systems built that recognize certain moves a customer may make if they are about to switch carriers and leave. That move triggers a loyalty discount that is often big enough that customers will decide to stick around, because they are given a discount, typically for a full 12 months on all of their lines.
Over the years, we’ve seen these Verizon loyalty discounts reach $20 off per line per month. Many see a $10 per line per month discount, but Verizon will go bigger at times. We first started seeing 25% off discounts in early 2026 and those appear to be active as of today.
On reddit, at least a couple of Verizon customers popped in to tell their recent success stories. They both mentioned that their previous loyalty discount had expired and they went back to the old Transfer PIN request trick to test their luck. In response, Verizon generated a 25% off loyalty offer, although one of them only received 6 months and not the 12 months we are used to.
Not everyone is seeing the same success, and we’re worried that our loyalty luck might be reaching an end. Some chimed in to suggest they were given smaller discounts this time (only 10% off), while others had zero success. Some needed to reach out to the executive relations team and others found a typical $20 off deal. Your mileage will clearly vary at this stage.
If you would like to try the old Number Transfer PIN trick to get a Verizon loyalty discount, this is the process we used to run:
- Open the My Verizon app on your phone
- Tap on the Account tab
- Tap on “Profile & settings” just under your name at the top of the app
- Scroll down to find “Number Lock” and tap it
- Turn off Number Lock
- Go back a screen and tap “Number Transfer PIN”
- Create a transfer PIN (you don’t need to use this for anything)
- Sit around and wait for Verizon to send you an offer email/SMS with the loyalty discount
- Turn Number Lock back on
