Avatar: The Last Airbender is heading into season two. And that means, it’s taking on the bulk of what takes place in the cartoon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Book Two: Earth. In season one of Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, we saw Aang, Katara, and Sokka narrowly protect the Northern Water Tribe, though not without a great many casualties. Meanwhile, in a divergence from the cartoon’s narrative, Azula conquered the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu, leaving only Ba Sing Se as the last major Earth Kingdom stronghold against the Fire Nation. Now the focus turns to the Earth Kingdom. As the Avatar, Aang must learn Earthbending. But with the fall of Omashu, it turns out it won’t be as easy as that. The first trailer for the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender season two gives us a glimpse of all the adventures in store when the Gaang and their foes converge in Ba Sing Se.
Ah, that familiar Avatar: The Last Airbender soundtrack has us in our feelings. In this early look, Azula is ready for the Earth Kingdom to fall to fire. And it doesn’t help that no one in the Earth Kingdom wants to acknowledge that they’re in any danger, content to imagine that Ba Sing Se will never fall. In this Avatar: The Last Airbender season two trailer, we get those famous words, “There is no war in Ba Sing Se.” Shivers! The first season of Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender really turned up the volume on the series’ discussion of power, war, and violence. And Ba Sing Se, with its propaganda-filled walls, is another location rife for reflection on all of these things. In the cartoon, darker themes are introduced and explored, but always with a kind of levity. We have a feeling the live-action series is only going to get more intense.

But that’s not to say there is no hope. The Avatar: The Last Airbender season two trailer gives us more from live-action Toph, who we love. And we know the Avatar WILL learn Earthbending from her. And that will put him on the right course to his destiny, bringing harmony to all elements and saving the world.
Of course, we also glimpse Zuko in his earthbending era, which is a great one. We’re curious to see how his story will unfold, especially as it has to do with Jet, Uncle Iroh, and Azula. Although we’re pretty interested in seeing how his story with Katara, Sokka, and Aang goes too. Basically, we love Zuko. What else is new? The Avatar: The Last Airbender season two trailer shows us moments from episodes like “Bitter Chase” and “The Crossroads of Destiny” already. And we can’t wait for more… Especially from “Zuko Alone.”

Finally, we know from this trailer that Avatar: The Last Airbender season two WILL make us cry, because we definitely spot clips from one of Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s most heartbreaking episodes ever, “Appa’s Lost Days.”
We’ll get all this and more when Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 premieres on June 25, 2026, only on Netflix. Season one is streaming in full now.
