A release date has been announced for The Legend of Zelda movie: April 30th, 2027. Fans have spent months wondering when more information about the live-action film would drop, and Shigeru Miyamoto treated us all to a…title screen. Which, if nothing else, confirms that the title is simply The Legend of Zelda. Per Miyamoto himself, “Once you see the film, you’ll understand why there isn’t a subtitle.”
2. Nintendo and LEGO Are Collaborating Once Again
While it’s not The Legend of Zelda’s first time working with LEGO, it might be our favorite so far. The set is centered on Link and Epona. An adult Link is saddled on Epona, who is rearing back on her hind legs. Link wields the Master Sword and the Hylian Shield. By all appearances, Link and Epona will also have posable joints. This set has 1,750 pieces, and will debut in the spring, post-Ocarina of Time release.
3. The Ocarina of Time Remake Drops November 5th of This Year, and It Looks So Very Good
Series veteran Eiji Aonuma took us through a gameplay demo for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, showing off stunning and detailed visuals, and the user-friendly modernization of the gameplay. The new quality of life adjustments include a free player-controlled camera, rather than the fixed one of the past, and the Threads of Time mechanic, which helps players to know what their next objective is if they get a bit lost. It’s sprucing up the legendary game with the best features of the action-adventure games of now.
4. Nintendo is Releasing a 40th Anniversary The Legend of Zelda Special Edition of the Switch 2 and Pro Controller
During the direct, we were shown a video of Nintendo’s new special edition of the Switch 2, themed around The Legend of Zelda and its 40th anniversary. The system is wrapped in glittering emerald green with golden details and accents, and its dock features a black and gold design with the Tri-Force at the center. Fans can also pick up The Legend of Zelda Pro Controller and carrying case to go with their gorgeous new Switch 2.
5. An Orchestra Performing the Best of 40 Years of Zelda Music is Going on A Worldwide Tour
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concert will be kicking off 2027 by going on a tour across Japan, before taking to the international stage. In February they’ll make their way through North America, then onto Europe in April, and finally Australia in May. Though, if you prefer to stay at home, Nintendo is also releasing acoustic and electronic ocarinas! Which you can play to your Switch 2, and the same notes will play in the game itself. The future is crazy, man.
