Critical Role fans are psyched that 2027’s Nerdy Best Friends Tour is on the horizon. There will be three new one-shots set in the worlds you know and love, guided by your favorite actual play GMs. D&D isn’t typically something you go out to a theatre to see, but with all corners of the nerd world becoming more and more mainstream, it’s no surprise. D&D, after all, is improv theatre at its finest!
The Nerdy Best Friends Tour will start out with Critical Role in the Great White North with the Toronto show on April 10, 2027. The Darrington Brigade will take to the stage at Scotiabank Arena, GM’d by Sam Riegel. Sitting at the table with Mr. Riegel will be Matt Mercer, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Travis Willingham, and Laura Bailey.
Next up will be the tour’s USA stop in Indianapolis, where Brennan Lee Mulligan will GM a new adventure for members of the Campaign 4 cast, bringing the world of Aramán to the American Midwest. The show will take place on August 5, 2027 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. We don’t know exactly which Campaign 4 cast members will be along for the ride, but we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available!
The tour will end with its Stockholm stop on November 9, 2027. Critical Role and Matt Mercer will take over Avicii Arena and bring a fresh quest in Exandria to the good people of Sweden. Matt Mercer will be accompanied on stage by the same players from the Toronto show. For all of the dates, an exclusive pre-sale starts November 4 for Beacon members, followed by a venue pre-sale on the 5th, with the general sale starting in earnest on November 6. VIP tickets will also be available, if you want to arrive early and enjoy a pre-show Q&A, as well as the best seats in the house.
We can’t wait to see what Critical Role brings to the stage in 2027. With the stories all being oneshots, hopefully some newcomers will end up jumping on the actual play bandwagon, expanding the fandom even further. Oh, and don’t forget: cosplay is encouraged!
