At the beginning of 2026, Google started testing a new feature within Gmail called “Google CC.” This was a Labs feature that would look through your inbox to be able to send you a daily brief that would help you better prepare for all of life’s events. The daily email would show you important dates, deadlines, and reminders, all in an easy-to-digest format with links, phone numbers, and potential time requirements.
After testing Google CC for several, I quickly called it awesome and one of the best new software features I had used in some time.
As it turns out, Google CC quickly graduated from Labs into a Gemini feature called Daily Brief. Google first debuted this at Google I/O and then made it available to Gemini users with paid Google AI subscriptions at Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra levels.
Since becoming a Gemini feature, my Google CC simply made its way into Gemini as the Daily Brief and it is still one of my favorite software features. I actually look at this every day to make sure I’m on top of everything that flows through my inbox. I promise you, this isn’t just a basic daily recap type of email – it’s so much smarter and good at organizing and finding info about your schedule than you can imagine.
Today, Google announced that this Daily Brief feature is no longer a paid feature and is available to everyone in the US.
To get started, you simply sign-in to Gemini with your personal Google Account, open Settings in the Gemini app and choose “Personal Intelligence.” Once in there, turn on Memory, and then toggle Google Workspace to ON in the Connected Apps area.
You should then see a toggle for Daily Brief at the bottom of the Personal Intelligence tab. Turn it on as well.
Once setup, you’ll find a shortcut to it in the sidebar of the Gemini app. You’ll also receive it as a notification each day.
