Galaxy’s Edge Droid Depot lets guests at both Disneyland and Orlando’s Hollywood Studios build their own mechanical buddies. But soon visitors will also be able to leave the shop with a furry little pal, too. Disney has announced a new line of adorable interactive Star Wars toys called Batuu Adventure Buddies. The first Batuu Adventure Buddy announced is an Ewok that you can carry around and also dance with when Palpatine is defeated.
Disney is bringing another line of high-end tech Star Wars toys to its American theme parks. Only these don’t look like their robot brethren. As mentioned, these will be called Batuu Adventure Buddies.
Batuu Adventure Buddies Collection Kicks Off with Interactive Ewok
The first of three new Batuu Adventure Buddies will arrive at the Disneyland Resort’s Droid Depot starting on August 13 ahead of this year’s D23. All will feature expressive LCD eyes, motorized facial expressions, and a mix of adorable, signature sounds. The first to arrive, and the only one announced so far, is the Ewok Batuu Adventure Buddy. This interactive Ewok toy will boast interactive touch responses, letting it react to loving head pats and belly taps. Those will activate two incredible reactions, which will also activate any nearby Ewok buddies:
- Endor Dance Party: “Rhythmic eye animations and Ewokese chanting/drumming sounds. Nearby Ewoks may also chime in.”
- Forest Call Chain: “Rapid double belly tap near other toys, letting out a scout call and allowing nearby toys to respond in their own languages.”
That’s right. You can soon have your own Ewok friend who will celebrate the demise of any evil emperor with you.
These Star Wars Toys Will Have Neat Accessories
Ewok Batuu Adventure Buddies also come with an accessory-responsive play function that allows them to react to accessories placed in their hands. You can get those extras as separate customizable gear. Those packs are based on famous Star Wars locations: Endor, Mandalore, and Batuu, the setting of Galaxy’s Edge.
Batuu Adventure Buddies’ Interactive Ewok Comes with a Story at Disney Parks
These interactive Ewok toys also come with a story and an experience. In-world they’re made by Anzellans like Babu Frik. When you purchase yours at the Droid Depot with the help of a cast member you will take part in “a special activation moment” that brings your “new friend to life for the very first time.”
Which Other Star Wars Creatures Will Be a Part of the Batuu Adventure Buddies Line?
The other two pieces in the collection will arrive at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge at a later unannounced date. All three will then premiere together at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. While Disney has not listed the price for the Ewoks, the Depot’s buildable droids cost $120.

Everyone on our team was excited to hear about these new Star Wars toys. So can you really put a price tag on having your own Ewok friend you can carry around and interact with? Yes.
