Marvel X-Men Dice Throne is where tabletop gaming meets comic books. It is a newly released, fast-paced dice-rolling combat game where you can play as one of the X-Men, including Iceman, Psylocke, Storm, and Wolverine. Every character has their own unique abilities, which you can explore in their unique components like personalized dice sets, card decks, and customized player boards.
Marvel X-Men Dice Throne is an iteration of the pre-existing game, Dice Throne. It can accommodate two to six players for an action-packed game lasting around half an hour. The short gameplay makes it perfect for kids and adults to play. As the name suggests, the board game revolves around players rolling dice to attack their opponents. Rolling dice also has other functions like activating powerful character-specific abilities and racking up combat points to upgrade your character.
“We aimed to capture the thrill of the X-Men universe while integrating the beloved mechanics of Dice Throne, resulting in a game that is both strategic and accessible,” said Dane Chapin, CEO of The Op Games.
The Marvel X-Men Dice Throne Box 1 includes the characters mentioned above with custom hardware. If you need more characters after playing Box 1 too much, don’t worry. Box 2 has you covered, with more characters including Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, and Jean Grey. At least Gambit is getting some board game love, even if the film isn’t going his way. Every Marvel X-Men Dice Throne comes with four hero boards, four leaflets detailing each character’s unique abilities, four health dials, four combat point dials, four card decks, status effect tokens, and 20 acrylic swirl dice.
Both boxes of the game are available now at major retailers, online, and at The Op Games, retailing for $49.99.
