Supergirl will fly into theaters on June 26, and we cannot wait to see her and Krypto on screen. We’ve gotten quite a bit of footage so far, and have an understanding of where this story will pull from in terms of comics. Of course, Supergirl had to make a splash at this year’s CinemaCon on April 14 during Warner Bros. “The Big Picture” Presentation. Star Milly Alcock and Jason Momoa, who rode in on Lobo’s motorbike, chatted about the good times they had filming Supergirl.
Kara Zor-El is here to give us some heroic (well, anti-heroic, sort of) energy and we embrace it. We love a hot mess girl who will do anything to save her precious pup. We see footage of Kara on a transport full of alien beings who are throwing up, smoking, and more. It’s like being on MARTA in DC, basically. She even offers one guy a vape to keep him from smoking. Things soon go awry when an invasion happens from raiders who want to rob all of them. Of course, Kara is cool as a cucumber as one raider asks for her watch that’s in her pocket.
She gives it up but Ruthye is not happy about it and grips her sword, ready to fight. Kara tries to calm her down but they take the sword. Little do the pirates know that Kara has their teleportation device, which she uses to cause a massive fight. She’s eventually apprehended and tries to convince the pilot to get closer to the sun, which he will not do.
So, Kara takes a spacesuit but doesn’t get the helmet on before she’s jettisoned into space, her face crystallizing as Ruthye watches helplessly. The sun hits her and she is revived and manages to get the bots on their vessel off with one heroic toss at a time. However, she’s attacked with a laser force but uses her eyes to fight back, just like we knew she would. She can then get back to her mission of saving Krypto.
It gives just a little taste of what fans will expect, and it looks like a good time.
