It is a sad time for fans of Krypto, who made his DCU appearance in Superman. Milly Alcock came to CinemaCon 2026 and affirmed a truth that no one wanted to hear: Krypto is majority CGI magic. Let’s take a moment of silence to absorb this heartbreaking truth. Alcock and her Supergirl co-star Jason Momoa took the stage during Warner Bros. special presentation and when she was asked about Krypto, she had to tell the truth. Alcock said that Krypto is “movie magic” but there was a dog on set for one day.
A random Romanian street dog came in to do some stand in work for Krypto. But, in true random dog fashion, the street dog was very uncooperative. Alcock joked that it totally checked out for a Romanian dog to not want to follow the rules, and that’s totally okay.

We also don’t like following the rules nor sitting down for long periods of time, either. While he may not be a real dog in Supergirl, we still have very real love for him all the same.
