Solana (SOL) Soars Past $94 on ETF Inflows and Supply Reduction Vote Trader Edge | usagoldmines.com

Key Highlights

  • SOL has climbed beyond $94, marking a 27% gain over the past seven days and reaching levels not seen in two months.
  • Exchange-traded funds focused on Solana saw four consecutive days of positive flows, totaling $28.34 million.
  • Network validators are currently casting votes on three governance measures (SGP 1, 2, 3) with voting concluding Thursday.
  • A pair of the proposals aim to tighten SOL supply through accelerated disinflation and expanded fee-burning mechanisms.
  • Breaking decisively above $100 on a daily basis could set the stage for SOL to challenge $112.52.

Solana is changing hands above the $94 mark this Monday, posting a roughly 1% advance in the past day and a substantial 27% climb across the prior week. This performance places SOL at its strongest valuation in eight weeks.

The recent surge has carried the digital asset above critical moving averages: the 50-day exponential moving average at $79.04 and the 200-day EMA positioned at $92.67. These technical markers now function as underlying support zones.

Near-term resistance appears at the May 11 peak of $98.41, with the psychologically significant $100 threshold just beyond. A confirmed daily candle close above the $100 mark could pave the way for a move toward $112.52.

On the four-hour timeframe, the Relative Strength Index hovers near 64, approaching overbought conditions. While the MACD indicator continues to signal bullish momentum with buyers maintaining control, the velocity of the recent advance suggests the possibility of near-term price stabilization.

Governance Proposals Target Supply Compression

On Sunday, Solana’s validator community initiated voting on three governance proposals, with final tallies anticipated by Thursday around 15:30 UTC. Voting power is proportional to the amount of staked SOL each validator holds.

The first measure, SGP-0001, aims to ratify the “Solana Constitution,” establishing a formal governance framework that defines decision-making protocols. Approval would activate the infrastructure required for executing subsequent governance votes.

SGP-0002 seeks to accelerate the network’s disinflation schedule by increasing the annual reduction rate from 15% to 30%. Implementation would curtail new token emissions more aggressively, bringing the protocol closer to its minimum supply threshold at a faster pace.

SGP-0003 proposes a redesign of the transaction fee structure. Under this model, block producers would receive a fixed allocation, while a variable component tied to computational usage would face permanent removal from circulation. Analysis suggests this mechanism could expand daily token burns from approximately 650 SOL to a range between 7,500 and 9,000 SOL — representing up to $846,000 in value at current market rates.

A procedural anomaly exists in the voting sequence. While SGP-0001 formally establishes the governance framework itself, SGP-0002 and SGP-0003 are concurrently being decided through that very system.

Institutional Capital Strengthens Momentum

Investment products centered on SOL registered four straight sessions of capital inflows during the previous week, accumulating $28.34 million in fresh investment. This represented the strongest weekly performance for these funds in eight weeks, based on data from CoinGlass.

The timing of these inflows aligned precisely with Solana’s 27% price recovery. Continued institutional accumulation may provide additional upward pressure, although a single week of positive fund flows doesn’t necessarily indicate a sustained trend reversal.

Cryptocurrency analyst Ivan on Tech weighed in on the development, noting via X that SOL had “flipped bullish for the first time since Q4.” He characterized this as a positive technical signal and suggested the movement might create opportunities for appreciation in smaller tokens built on the Solana blockchain.

SOL was trading above $96 in early Monday trading, reflecting a 1.6% increase over the preceding 24-hour period.
