Just one day after losing the legendary Dolly Parton, we are now facing another immeasurable loss. Beloved actor Tim Curry has died at age 80. It is hard to sum up his expansive body of work that includes the It miniseries as Pennywise, Clue as Wadsworth the butler, The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, and Home Alone 2 as Mr. Hector. Additionally, Curry was a prolific voice actor with dozens of credits under his belt for Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Over the Garden Wall.
He was born on April 19, 1946 in England, and began his career in 1968 in the West End production of the musical Hair. US audiences basically adopted him as a national treasure over his decades of work that spanned a wide range of genres from drama to comedy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Curry died in his home in Los Angeles and although an official cause of death is not given, Curry suffered a major stroke back in 2012 that required brain surgery and resulted in him using a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
He is survived by extended family members, as he did not marry nor did he have children. Rest well, good sir. Your legacy lives on with us forever in your work.
