I need to make something clear: I know Alan Ritchson is an actor and that Jack Reacher is a fictional character he plays on a TV show. This is something I am absolutely aware of. But I also know it’s much funnier if we ignore that fact when it comes to the new trailer for Prime Video’s upcoming Christmas action-adventure movie, The Man With the Bag. That way we can say that in the movie’s new trailer, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Santa Claus asks Reacher to be naughty for him.
What do you do when a shiny-obsessed elf steals Old Saint Nick’s Christmas bag? You hire a very large criminal to steal it back for him. That’s the premise for The Man With the Bag, the new holiday film from Prime Video, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the big guy in red. He turns to Ritchson’s Vance, an elite thief and dad who reluctantly accepts the magical elf’s most important job. But it won’t be easy stealing back Santa’s bag from Awkwafina’s Nadia Nyce. (It’s a real name.) As we see in this The Man With the Bag trailer, she’s busy living the high life, Home Alone 2 style, and who can blame her? Nadia won’t give that sack of infinite presents without a fight, which is why Vance will need help.
In addition to the trailer, here’s the official synopsis for The Man With the Bag from Prime Video:
When Santa’s iconic red bag is stolen by a rogue elf with a grudge, Christmas is suddenly at risk. With his biggest night of the year fast-approaching, Santa recruits a thief from his ‘Naughty List’ who quickly assembles a crew of criminally skilled misfits — with a little help from elves and reindeer — to pull off the most unexpected heist of their lives.
The Man With the Bag comes from director Adam Shankman (What Men Want, Disenchanted) with a script from TV veteran Allan Rice. It also stars Berkeley James, Michael Cyril Creighton, Liza Koshy, Kyle Mooney, Jane Krakowski, and Ken Jeong.
Will Vance pull off a Christmas miracle? We’ll find out at Prime Video when Reacher gets naughty for Santa on December 2. In the meantime, the trailer for The Man With the Bag is here for you to enjoy on loop.
